The Győri Audi ETO KC women's handball team announced on Tuesday on their official website that their head coach, Gábor Danyi leaves the club at the end of the season. Meanwhile, Siófok has announced the trainer's summer arrival.

As known, the 56-year-old trainer's contract will expire in the summer of 2021, and none of the parties renewed it.

Dr. Csaba Bartha, the club's president said that they were in talks about a new contract, and the final decision was that Gábor Danyi leaves the current team.

“We announced Gábor Danyi's new contract in the beginning of February 2020. The club's management was talking about the renewal of the contract, but the final decision was to terminate it. Of course, for the remaining of the season, we will fight together to reach our goals.”

After Ambros Martín's leave in 2018, his then-assistant coach Gábor Danyi continued to train the team. In 2019, they won all three trophies possible. Hungarian newspaper Bors wrote a couple days ago that the Spanish coach might return to Győr.

Simultaneously with Győr's announcement, Siófok stated that the coach signed the contract for three plus two years with them. From the summer of 2021, Danyi's assistant coach will be the current head coach, Zdravko Zovko.

“It is my pleasure that I can continue my career in Siófok. I'm excited for this new chapter, but I still have some other obligations. Right now, the most important thing is to finish what I started. I will do everything to make sure to close the season with Győri Audi ETO KC as successfully as possible,” told Siófok's website Gábor Danyi.

Danyi didn't take part in Győr's announcement, but told Nemzeti Sport that “at the moment I'm fully concentrating on being able to complete my remaining tasks at Győr. I don't any distractions for the team. I would like to work hard for the next five months to get the best results, and to the get the best out of this season because this is my job. At the end of the season, I'll publicly inform all why I decided not the renew the contract, leave in the summer and part ways with the club. I will answer every question then.

In regard to the upcoming years, it's gratifying and honorable to continue my coaching career at Siófok starting this summer. I look forward to the start of the new chapter.”

Siófok also stated that they will not make any future statements on the topic until the end of the season, but this is how the professional world is today...
