After 25 years of canoeing, six-time gold medalist Danuta Kozák – who announced on her social media that she is expecting her second child – returns and would like to win her ninth Olympic medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

"What could be a greater adventure than starting it again after 25 years of canoeing, after so many successes, injuries and difficulties? What could be more exhilarating than competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics? What could be more challenging than winning my ninth Olympic medal after all this time? Hm... and while being a mother of two?" – six-time Olympic champion Danuta Kozák, who had her first child – Zora Somogyi – with husband and coach Béla Somogyi in June 2017, shared the good news.

Kozák is an Olympic silver medalist in K-4 in Beijing, then Olympic champion in K-1 and K-4 in London, and also a gold medalist in Rio in K-1, K-2 and K-4. She returned from maternity leave to claim her sixth gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics as part of the Kayak Four while finishing third in K-2.
