ZTE coach Ricardo Moniz began by saying that he and his team looked forward to this game like a final.
"It was the most important game of my life, so we tried to prepare accordingly. We pressed them high with two strikers directly after the kick-off, so we could take the initiative, and Milan didn't know what happened. Therefore, we took a three-goal lead. When Milan woke up, they used their defensive midfielders more and took control of the game, created opportunities, and even scored. In the second half, Ikoba was not physically ready, so Milan took more initiative, and it was a game against our philosophy."
He added that he sees this victory as a turning point.
"This result means we can now play like favorites. This was a game for Zalaegerszeg, it was a game for the region, it was a game for the people. It was a game for more than football. I am happy for the players, and I am happy for the citizens of Zalaegerszeg.”
