Ulsan has been the silver medalist in the last three season, and the club could have made its title triumph a certainty with Tuesday'swin but only played a draw of 1-1 with Pohang Steelers. However, they still went into the final two rounds with a six-point lead, and one point was enough for the final victory.
It looked like Ulsan would at least play a draw with Gangwon, but in the 62nd minute, Kim Dae Won gave the home side the lead from a penalty. Martin Ádám came on for Ulsan shortly afterwards and was not idle for long. First, he almost assisted Leonardo, but his teammate made a mistake against the opposing goalkeeper. In the 75th minute, though, he had an assist, received a high ball with a header, from which Um Won Sang equalized.
In the second half, he was on the scoresheet himself. After a corner kick and a header, he scored a goal with his body from a short distance. As it turned out shortly afterwards, it was worth a win for Ulsan.
With Ulsan's recent success, the squad can celebrate its third title in its history after 1996 and 2005 by overtaking their great rivals, the South Korean record holder and winner of the last five seasons, Jeonbuk. The 27-year-old Ádám with 8 caps for Hungary, who has now scored nine goals in the league, won the first major trophy of his senior career.
