A hazaiak csatára, Daniel Sturridge egyhuzamban a nyolcadik bajnokiján tudott eredményes lenni, amivel beállította Ruud van Nistelrooy rekordját. Ezzel egy időben a Newcastle United Loic Rémy hajrában szerzett góljával otthont tudta tartani a három pontot az Aston Villával szemben.
