The footballer, who left Cypriot Apollon after 1.5 years, arrived in Istanbul on Saturday night, and on Sunday he passed the mandatory check-ups in Acibadem Altunizade Hospital.
Attila Szalai has played 40 matches with the Cypriot club scoring five goals and assisting three times since his arrival in July 2019. |
As we covered on Friday night, Apollon agreed on Szalai's transfer to Fenerbahce and its price: the Istanbul club could pay 2.3 million Euros for Szalai, and the money's 20 percent, about 400 000 Euros will proceed to Mezőkövesd.
With this, Szalai became the club's most expensive transfer from Apollon Limassol – only if the news is believable that Fenerbahce actually paid the above-mentioned 2.3 million Euros for the 22-year-old, and not counting Luka Jovic's recent loan back to Eintracht Frankfurt from Real Madrid, who was a player for Apollon for only six days in January 2016.
According to news reports, Szalai signed an annual salary deal of 350 000 Euros with Fenerbahce. Fenerbahce, that stands behind the champion Besiktas by just three points, welcomes Ankaragücü on Monday in the Turkish league.
