We've already written on our portal that the Grand Hotel on Margaret Island in Budapest has a wonderful environment, and the beautifully renovated rooms await the Portuguese national team that will start the European Championship on June 15 against Hungary. We found out that Pápai Asztalos Kft. manufacture the furniture and modern equipment of the rooms used by the Portuguese footballers. Speaking of which, we looked around the site to see what they were making for Cristiano Ronaldo and the team at the factory. Before the company started to manufacture the furniture,Paralel Művek, responsible for the design, sent the sketches to the Portuguese football federation. After all the details had been approved, the competent carpenters in Pápa could start working. As we learned from Managing Director József Kovács, the work is nearing completion, and more importantly, there are pieces of furniture, such as headboards, that are already in place. Now, only the small elements of the cabinets need to assembled, packaged, and transported.
"The assignment is a great honor for our company," the executive manager said when we were there. “Although sport is not our main profile, we've been able to work at the Allianz Arena in Munich before, and we've even manufactured the seats of Atlético Madrid's new stadium, Wanda Metropolitano. Of course, we also work for the domestic market. It would be long to list the number of sports facilities where fans, guests of honor, and journalists covering the matches use our seats – perhaps it's enough to mention the Duna Aréna or the Nagyerdei Stadion in Debrecen only. We've had a good relationship with the hotel on Margaret Island for years. Their order came at the end of last year, then the Portuguese approved the plans, and we'll do the work according to their needs. It's no secret that the Portuguese federation has booked the entire hotel with thirty-two rooms available to the players on the second floor. We've carried out the complete renovation of these rooms, and have furnished four rooms on the first and third floor. Cristiano Ronaldo will be resting in one of them."
The furniture made in Pápa will remain the property of the hotel after the Portuguese' departure.
"Obviously, a lot of people will want to know the conditions in which the Grand Hotel welcomed the world star,"said József Kovács."With my son, who owns part of the company, we love football and, of course, we are cheering for the success of the Hungarian national team, but the furniture has brought the Portuguese a little closer to our hearts."
