Celtic FC coach Ange Postecoglou was delighted that their victory kept alive their dreams of advancing.
"I'm happy with the game, that's exactly how we wanted to attack. Our third goal was a real team effort; it was nice to see that on the pitch. An away game like this can give the boys a huge boost.”
Nemzeti Sport asked the head coach what he thinks is Ferencváros' weakness compared to the other teams in the group.
"It's hard to answer that. We played two games with Ferencváros, and we were able to control them. I'm not in the position to say what qualities the other team has.We knew that Ferencváros' defense was not as solid as what we're used to in the Premier League, and we tried to take advantage of that."
Ferencváros head coach Peter Stöger, in response to a question, started by saying he was not thinking about stepping down.
“Unfortunately, in today's game, we made a lot of mistakes, especially in defense. They are hard to compensate and come back into the match, but at the start of the second half, we managed to do that. I could feel the guys were ready to fight. Unfortunately, such mistakes cannot be done at this level. If we don't focus 100 percent, it's hard to win even NB I games, let alone matches like these.”
He added that Ferencváros is in a very strong quartet.
"This equals to a Champions League group in which we are the smallest team. Despite the mistakes, the boys played bravely. We tried to be offensive and create opportunities.”
The Austrian expert was also asked how he experienced the whistles from the stands and the repeated "Auf Wiedersehen."
"It's not a pleasant situation, but we have to accept the fans' reactions. The boys in the dressing room could be seen to be bummed, which is due to the result and the atmosphere on the stands, as it was a new experience for them. We have an important game ahead of us at the weekend. We have to focus on that, and that's what I've brought to the players' attention.”
